Recently we took up an offering to assist with a new project that LightForce International is launching in India.

George Ridley, LightForce International Director, explained that on his trip he encountered families facing extreme poverty. To such an extent they were offering to sell their children into slavery for only a few pounds. On the right are pictures of some children that George met on his travels and was even offered children to buy.

Through its partners in India LightForce will establish goat herds during 2010. Goats will provide milk & goat kids for sale, the income from which will be used to purchase rice, enabling long term support for these families.

Initially that will be providing a meal a day. A meal a day for one person for a month costs £4.

LightForce will also be purchasing a goat for each family enabling them to generate income to feed themselves after a year. Each goat costs £12.

Our offering at the Carol Service was £642.

This a great start if you would like to contribute please click here and choose LightForce International from the drop down menu. (Your donation will be taken through Protox secure servers.)

100% of what you give will go to families in India.
